Arlene M. Martin Obituary (1949

Arlene M. Martin, 75, of Heny, passed Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 5:17 pm at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday June 3, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Henry United Methodist Church. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Henry Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is in charge of arrangements. Arlene was born November 5, 1949, in Kewanee, IL to Thomas Elmore and Dorothy Marie (Hendrick) Schaffer. She married Thomas L. Beall on July 6, 1968. They were divorced. She later married Richard C. Martin on May 8, 1979. They were later divorced. Surviving are her children, Michael (Tammy) Beall, Richard (Christy) Beall and Erica Martin, all of Henry, her siblings, Michael (Rita) Schaffer, Linda Towne, Patricia Grove and Judith (Don) Poole, her grandchildren, Dylan, Savannah and Heaven Stowe, Morgan Pruitt, Megan Jendrey, Trevor Wiley and Odessa McElhiney, Brittany Scoon, Kayla Shanklin, and Jordan Schlosser and four great-grandchildren and one on the way. Her parents, her four brothers, Ronald, John, William, and James Schaffer and her four sisters, Mary Jean Drake, Barbara Anderson, Donna Schaffer and Elizabeth Ann Schaffer, preceded her in death. Arlene was a member of the Henry United Methodist Church. She worked for over 30 years as the dietary assistant manager at Heartland Health Care, Henry.
