April Gasen Obituary (1985 - 2024)

April R. Gasen, 38 of Girard passed away peacefully, May 10, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27, 1985, daughter of Albert and Beverly (Leach) Stone. She married Robert “Rob” Gasen on May 17, 2008 in Auburn and he survives her passing. April served her Country for over 20 years as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard and 15 plus years as a Federal Technician. She loved arts and crafts and was a Die Hard Cubs fan. She was well known by her family and friends as being the “Christmas Prankster”. In addition to her loving husband, Rob, she is survived by her children Payton A. Gasen, Lauralye A. Watts and Makenzye F. Gasen; her parents Albert and Beverly Stone; brothers Kevin Stone and Paul Shepherd; sisters Brenda (Robb) Brewer and Sara Stone along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden. Graveside Funeral Services with Full Military Honors will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with Chaplin Steve Foster officiating.
