Alta Lavern Thompson

Alma Lavern Thompson, 82, of Taylorville, IL died at 3:50 pm Monday, February 17, 2003 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL. She was born November 30, 1920 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Rufus Edward and Esther Irene Tanner Thompson. Alma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Taylorville and the American Telephone Pioneers. She had been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone for 32 years.

Surviving are: Sisters, Helen Wittenburg of Slater, MO; Mary Passoni Zueck and husband "Butch" and Alta Bates Mundhenke and husband Bill both of Taylorville.
Sister-in-law, Marie Thompson of Taylorville. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Harold Thompson and Joe Bozsok.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Friday, February 21, 2003 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylorville with Pastor Rodney Blomquist officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the church.
