Henry: Allen K. Weir, 91, of Henry, passed away Monday January 22, 2024, 1:53 PM at Henry Rehab & Nursing, Henry. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held Saturday March 16, 2024, 11:00am at Henry Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry American Legion. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry is in charge of arrangements. Allen was born January 16, 1933, in Henry, IL to Ike and Maggie (Rodewold) Weir. He married Barbara J. Nelson on January 15, 1965, in Henry, IL. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2019. Surviving are her children, Cecil (Ann) Altizer, of Tiskilwa, Joann Kim, of Peoria, Jean Ann (Alan) Weir-Stunkel, of Rutland, Barbara (Jerry) Lester, of Mark, and Emma (fiancé Pat Atkinson)Ely, of Henry, twelve grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Kenneth, Trish, Sandra, Eric, Carrie, Peter, Michelle, Naomi, Shane and Jeri, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Miranda, Mason, Shawna, Shar, Autumn, Keyenna, Shae, Keaton, Luke, Justin, Monica, Dane, Zoe, Starr, Abby, Graham, Sabine, Tyler, Russell, Samantha, Juliet, Robert, Travis, and Phillip, Hank & Lucas 20 great-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Elliot, Tucker, Alivia, Grayson, Sofie, Paisley, Preston, Teddy, Emmerya, Aliyah, Adeline, Levi, Maddox, Wrenly, Oliver, Ivy, Aria, Royal, and Aubreigh. His parents, two brothers, David, and Bert Weir, three sisters, Francis, Marlene, and Emma, one grandson, Justin and one great-grandson, Hank, preceded him in death. Allen worked at the Henry Nursery, and the Henry Creamery and later at National Metalworks, In LaSalle before retiring. Allen enjoyed visiting with family & friends, sitting on his front porch overlooking the river, watching the wildlife, boaters and cars cruising by. He also enjoyed hunting.
