Viola S. Jones, 70, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at her home.Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. She was born June 26, 1947 in Mound Bayou, MS, daughter of Oliver and Marie Quinn Weatherspoon. She was married to Lorenzo Jones for 32 years. Surviving are her children, Danyale (Michael) Bell of Evansville, IN, Rhoda Jones of Dolton and Brian Jones of Indianapolis, IN and eight grandchildren, Michael L. Bell III, Morgan Bell, Matthew Bell, Ezekiel Ephraim, Jurnee Lang, Brian Jones Jr, Brianna Jones and Chaze Patrick. Also surviving are her siblings, Rose (Jessie) Butler of Bloomington, Dwight (Queen) Weatherspoon of Winstonville, MS, Glen (Mary) Weatherspoon of Dolton, Carol Weatherspoon of Winstonville, MS, Elizabeth Tillman of Mound Bayou, MS and Willie D. Hollman of Florida. She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Weatherspoon. Viola enjoyed a long career as a seamstress. She also enjoyed spending her time with her family and cooking for them. She will be greatly missed.
