Rose Sexton, 92, of Bloomington, died at 8:43 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Patrick Church of Merna, where visitation will be two hours prior to services. Monsignor Gregory Ketcham will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL. A private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. She married James M. Sexton, Sr on April 13, 1942, he preceded her in death in December of 1995. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Sexton Jr; five grandchildren and two sisters.Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Jones of Fond du Lac, WI, Elizabeth Patterson of Springfield, IL and Patricia (Larry) Sweeney of Bloomington, IL; two sons, Jeffrey (Debbie) Sexton of Moore, SC and Gregory (Cheryl) Sexton of Waynesville, IL. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.Rose was a 1941 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was volunteer for OSF Auxiliary and in the nursery at St. Patrick Church of Merna.She enjoyed a long career as the owner and operator of Humpty Dumpty Preschool in Bloomington for over 50 years.Rose was an avid bridge player and will be remembered for always doing good for others.
