Rose Ella Williams Obituary (1929 - 2017)

Rose Ella Williams, 87, of Anchor, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Colfax, with Rev. Carl LoPresti officiating. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She was born December 15, 1929 in Bloomington, a daughter of Joseph P. and Fern E. Woith Knapp. She married Delbert E. Williams on October 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2001. She is survived by six children, Karen Wright, Julie Williams, Nancy (David) Wilkinson, Cheryl (Michael) Molck, Shannon Williams and Stephen (Karen) Williams; eleven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Ann Knapp. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Knapp; and a son-in-law, Patrick Wright. Rose graduated from Trinity High School in 1947. She was a lifelong Cubs fan and a voracious reader.
