Pamela S. Brown Obituary (1952 - 2017)

Pamela S. Brown, 65, of Hudson, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in Hudson Township Cemetery, Hudson. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. She was born October 25, 1952 in Decatur, a daughter of Homer Eugene and Verda Irene Young Patterson. She married William M. Brown on December 2, 1972 in Bloomington and he survives in Hudson. Also surviving are three children, Stephanie Ann (Travis Roberts) Brown of Bloomington, Douglas Matthew (Billie Jo) Brown of Hudson and Michael Darien (Kris) Filkin of Wapella; 8 grandchildren, Kody McAfee Arbuckle, Taylor Marie Filkin, Madison Lee Filkin, Bailey Morgan Fisher, Derek Michael Filkin, Regan Kristine Filkin, Kaytlin Sue Brown and Baize William Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Adilynn Mae Arbuckle. Also surviving are a sister, Sharon (Steve) Bobbitt of Kansas; a brother, Kevin (Tami) Patterson of Springfield; a brother-in-law, Jim Underwood of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Connie Underwood. Pamela spent most of her childhood in Illiopolis and graduated from Illiopolis High School. She had previously been employed by State Farm Insurance Companies. She enjoyed bowling, scrapbooking, coloring and traveling, but more than anything Pamela treasured the time she spent with her family and friends.
