Mariruth Therien Obituary (1929

Mariruth Therien, 85, of Chenoa, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 6:38 a.m. at her residence. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac. Deacon Michael An will officiate. Mariruth was born June 24, 1929 in Cropsey, IL, daughter of Millard and Lillie ( VanWalker) Ferguson. She married Leonard Therien on May 3, 1947 in Watseka, IL. He passed away August 13, 2010. Surviving are her sons, Greg (Barb) Therien of Lexington, IL and Mark (Karen) Therien of Pontiac, IL; daughter, Linda (Richard) Metz of Chenoa, IL; sisters, Wilma Dehm of Chatsworth, IL, Patricia Hornickle of Chatsworth, IL, and Marjorie Loughran of Pontiac, IL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Sherry Killian; 6 brothers, Conley Ferguson, Millard Ferfuson Jr., Clarence Dudley Ferguson, Larry D. Ferguson, Rodney Joe Ferguson, and Gary Lee Ferguson; and 4 sisters Jean Lanely, Ann Robbins, Gerry Reyneirs, and Emmajean Ferguson in infancy. Mariruth was educated in Fairbury schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Pontiac and Presbyterian by faith.
