Jo Ann Robbins, 81, of Normal, died at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Heritage Health in Bloomington. A short prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. A private entombment will be at Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal. She married Wilfred Robbins on November 2, 1953 in El Paso, he preceded her in death in 2011.She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Short and one sister, Jerry Cousins. Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Patton of Bloomington; one grandson, Christopher Tanton of Bloomington and one sister, Joyce Robbins of Muskogee, OK. Jo Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Normal. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved to quilt; she often volunteered her time by making lap quilts for families in need. Jo Ann enjoyed spending her time with her family, and will be remembered as being a devoted grandmother to her grandson, Christopher.
