E. Lucille Deardorff Obituary (1921 - 2015)

E. Lucille Deardorff 94, of Bethany, IL passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 8:40 p.m., in her residence. A service to celebrate Lucille life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 10, 2015, Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Rev. Paul McGhghy officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 11:00 until service time. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Sullivan, IL. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Lucille was born February 14, 1921, in Macon County, IL the daughter of Henry and Emma (Kruck) Bork. She married Robert E. Deardorff on February 10, 1940. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2001. She was retired from Stephen Decatur High School as the Salad Lady in the cafeteria. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sullivan, IL. She was formerly active in the PTA at Eldorado Grade School. Lucille was often her great-granddaughter Hannah's playmate. Surviving are her children: Joan Lewis (Larry) of Pana, Gary Deardorff (Kay) of Decatur, Dan Deardorff (Jean) of Decatur, and Janet Gentry (Dennis) of Bethany; sister: Margaret Murray of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Tracy Maskill(Doug) of Kansas City, MO, Debra Lewis of Lafayette, IN, Ted Lewis (Sharon) of Lafayette IN, Todd Lewis (Lori) of Hamilton, IL, Brent Deardorff (Deanna) of Decatur, Kathy Saathoff (Jake) of Champaign, Barry Deardorff (Tina) of Elwin, Melissa Phelps (Vince) of Mt. Zion and Michael Gentry (Sarah) of Bethany; nineteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister, grandson: Terry Lewis and granddaughter: Dawn Deardorff.
