Dana Sue Winkle Obituary (1971

Dana Sue Winkle, 51, of LeRoy, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by her family. Dana Sue Roberts was born January 12, 1971, to Daniel and Mary Ann (Litherland) Roberts. Throughout her life, she lived all over central Illinois before graduating from Heyworth High School in 1989. Heyworth High School is where Dana met her high school sweetheart, and love of her life, Stan Winkle. The two married on September 5, 1992 and shared 30 beautiful years and two wonderful children together. During her life, Dana's careers included time at Commerce Bank, at home "Dana's Daycare", Parkside Elementary School, and State Farm. She also loved to volunteer in the community as a cheerleading coach through Route 150, LeRoy Junior High, and Parkside Junior High, a Girl Scout Leader, a VBS teacher, and so much more. Dana is preceded in death by her parents Daniel Roberts and Mary Ann Litherland. She is survived by her husband Stan Winkle, children Jacob Winkle and Kati (Brandon) Miller, brother Micheal Roberts, and sisters Sara (Kevin) Agler and Debbie (Steve) Garbe. A service will be held on Friday, January 6th, from 4-6pm at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in LeRoy, Illinois. Dana was a very active member of the community, and she loved volunteering and supporting local nonprofits. In order to celebrate her life in this same manner, we are asking that memorial donations be made out to Kati Miller to be distributed to her favorite local nonprofits and charities (Parkside Special Education, Parkside Cheerleading, Normal West, OSF St. Joseph CCC, etc.).
