Benjamin D. Salch, 35, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home.His Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington with Rev. Chase Hilgenbrinck officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery immediately following. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Knights of Columbus, 1706 R.T. Dunn Drive in Bloomington immediately following the visitation. Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington.Benji was born July 27, 1981 in Normal, the son of David F. and Patricia A. Muller Salch.He is survived by his parents of Bloomington; a sister, Abigail (Tassilo) Bok of Ellsworth, a brother, Matthew Salch of Chicago, and a maternal uncle, Michael (Nancy) Muller of Schaumburg.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Evelyn Salch and Roland and Margaret Muller.Benji graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2000. He attended Heartland Community College and Illinois Community College pursuing Horticulture. With his unstoppable work ethic and unbounded creativity he could build nearly anything. He was happiest in the outdoors doing landscaping, taking down trees with his chainsaw, and fishing. He was also incredibly creative and artistic in mediums such as painting, sketching, and cartooning.Benji was a fiercely loyal and caring person who would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He had a silly sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Mostly, he loved his family and friends."In case you hadnt heard, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series!!!"
