He earned his undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a funeral service degree from Mid-America College of Funeral Services. Alex has been working with Calvert Funeral Homes since 1987. If not running kids from one event to another, Alex enjoys spending free time on the golf course and working on his landscaping. He has always wanted to be a funeral director and especially loves seeing the families he has helped, days or even weeks after their service, to see how wonderful they are healing and to hear their stories.

Nathan hails from Mt. Pulaski, Illinois and went on to receive his B.A. in Business Management from the University of Illinois, and is a Worsham College of Mortuary Science graduate. Nathan’s investment in his communities dates back to 1998 when he first joined Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Homes, and the continual opportunity to assist families in these communities is something that he greatly treasures. Says Nathan, “Serving the families in my hometown community and meeting different families makes it a different experience every day.” When Nathan is not at the funeral home, he immerses himself in yard work and landscaping and spending time outdoors. Nathan and his wife Heather, who originates from Elkhart, Illinois, are the proud parents of two boys, Benjamin and Jackson and two family pets: a coon hound named Indy and a cat named Slick. Once an avid baseball player, Nathan is now excited to be utilizing his athletic and leadership talents in the coaching of his sons’ baseball teams.

Pulaski, and he greatly enjoys the diverse duties and social responsibilities that his position affords him. Ron has a love for dogs (he has a beagle, greyhound, and miniature schnauzer) and is an avid fisherman. He and his wife Kelly enjoy going to movies, and he one day hopes to achieve his dream of traveling to every tropical island he can find.

A native of Woodridge, Illinois, Ryan has quickly become a fan of Logan County and the communities that he serves daily. Ryan and his wife Samantha, who is a high school English teacher in Lincoln, greatly appreciate the "friendly, honest, and relaxed atmosphere" that Lincoln and its neighboring towns offer. Says Ryan, "I love being able to help the families of Logan County during the most difficult time of their lives. As a funeral director, the most gratifying experience is when I am finished making funeral arrangements with a family and I get to see them take a sigh of relief, knowing that their worries are over and that we are going to take care of everything." When not serving families in need, Ryan enjoys a variety of hobbies, including: reading comic books and novels, playing guitar, following boxing, and rooting rabidly for his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. Ryan used to compete in national video game competitions, but now you will most often find Ryan in the kitchen, where his Italian and Irish family ties are clearly evident. So passionate is Ryan about cooking (especially Italian food), that he claims that if he were not working at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, he might be found in Colorado cooking and operating his own Italian restaurant.

Nathan grew up in Raymond, Illinois and enjoyed the many activities that are native to that area, including fishing, deer and duck hunting, golfing, and watching basketball. An admitted sports enthusiast, Nathan also spends time following Fighting Illini sports and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. A graduate of Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science, Nathan served as a Montgomery County Coroner's Deputy for two years before joining Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Homes. Much like his hometown, Nathan noticed the warm and welcoming nature of the residents of Lincoln and its surrounding communities, and this friendliness inspires Nathan even more to help families who are in need of his services and are struggling in the "worst time of their life". Nathan is a 3rd Degree Master Mason, the proud owner of two Siamese cats and an Australian shepherd, and a man who loves to "hang out with his family and awesome friends".

A graduate of Midstate College with an Associate Degree in Computer Management, Steve combines his vast array of technology skills with his warm and welcoming personality to impact his co-workers and visitors at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Homes. As a single parent and true "family man", Steve is extremely proud of his son Colby, who lives in Greenville, South Carolina and his daughter Candice, who lives in Lincoln. When Steve is not immersed in family time, he enjoys ballroom dancing, baking, traveling, and following sports, especially his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. His love for his family and his community, along with his passionate pursuit of his hobbies, provides Steve ample opportunity to spend time with people, which is something he greatly treasures. If Steve were not meeting families and working in his communities, one might stumble across him living in the mountains in a home overlooking a lake, reading his Bible and serving his church. Coincidentally, Steve has already mapped out this dream, as he has determined that it is exactly 728 miles from Lincoln, Illinois to his future lake-front, mountain home in Athens, Georgia.

Evan represents the third generation of the Calvert name in the funeral industry, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Larry, and father, Alex. A Carthage College student (where he is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon) and future Worsham College of Mortuary Science enrollee, Evan’s desire is to further the legacy of his family members and offer the same kind of care and service to the communities in which the Calvert family serves. As Evan readily admits, “I embrace being able to help families in their darkest times in life.” When Evan is not attending to the needs of those aforementioned families or studying, he can be found spending time with his family and friends, his girlfriend Hannah, and his dogs, Sally and George. Evan loves Bloomington-Normal, especially the wide array of good restaurants, amazing golf courses, and the friendly families that comprise these communities. In his limited spare time, Evan enjoys watching baseball, fishing, and golfing; and he dreams of one day playing on the PGA Tour, where he can play all the top courses in the world and ultimately employ his father as his caddy.
