Romola Elmore, 104, of Farmer City, IL, passed away at 4:51 A.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Farmer City Rehabilitation and Health Care.

 

Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 27, 2017 at Blue Ridge Township Cemetery, Rural Farmer City, IL with Pastor Jeremiah Thompson officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weedman United Methodist Church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, IL in charge of arrangements.

 

Romola was born on November 23, 1912 in Piatt County, Illinois, a daughter of Roy and Cella Pearl Luscaleet Pike. She married A. Theodore Elmore on December 28, 1935 in Galesville, IL. He passed away, May 4, 1982.

 

Survived by daughter-in-law, Colleen Elmore of Orange Park, FL; four grandchildren, Bradley (Melissa) Elmore of Hillsboro, OH; Stephanie (Tom) Jones of Melrose, FL; Michael (Jan) Keuhn of Washington, IL; Brian Keuhn of FL; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; son, David Elmore; daughter, Janet Keuhn; grandson, Rick Keuhn; and one sister.

 

Romola was a member of the Weedman United Methodist Church.

Ruth Arlene Letzkus, 73, of Heyworth, passed away at 11:57 A.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Heyworth Christian Church, Heyworth. Pastor Mark Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Township Memorial Cemetery, Heyworth. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

 

Mrs. Letzkus was born December 7, 1943 in Atwater, IL to Charles Lee and Claudia Marie Simmons Harms.

 

Survivors include two sons, Gregory P. Harms of Heyworth and Jon R. (Pam) Letzkus of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Angie D. (Bernie) Wiltshire and Kelly J. (Matt) Lembke all of Heyworth; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip (Judy) Harms of Atwater; and one sister, Janet (Jerry) Wills of Lexington.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeffrey Letzkus.

 

Ruth was a college professor and had taught at West Virginia Northern Community College and recently was a systems educator and trainer at State Farm Insurance.

 

She was a member of the Heyworth Christian Church and All Hands Around Quilt Guild, Bloomington.

Dominic J. Pasquale, 69, of LeRoy, passed away at 3:10 P.M., Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home in LeRoy.

 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy with military rites accorded.  Pastor Eric Swanson will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2017 at the funeral home and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. National Headquarters, 406 W. 34th St.  Kansas City, MO  64111 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.

Mr. Pasquale was born July 6, 1947 in Logansport, IN to Antonio L. and Anna Victoria DiDomenico Pasquale.  He married Terry A. Evans on October 28, 2006 in Hudson, IL.  She survives in LeRoy.

Also surviving are one son, Anthony J. “A.J.” (Tina) Pasquale of Kingsport, TN; one daughter, Susan B. Pasquale of Murfreesboro, TN; one step-son, Sonny C. (Courtney) Evans of Bloomington; one step-daughter, Angela D. (Randall) Wingett of Farmer City; three grandchildren, Skylar and Tori Wingett and Payten Evans; and one sister, Ada (Dr. William) Lambert of Greenfield, IN.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Dominic served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam.  He was the General Manager and C.E.O. of Permabilt in LeRoy and retired in 2006.

Jack C. Gassaway, 87, of LeRoy, passed away at 12:47 A.M., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home in LeRoy.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the LeRoy Christian Church, LeRoy. Jeff Mayfield will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy with military rites accorded. There will be no visitation.

 

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy is in charge of arrangements.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the LeRoy Christian Church, the Ruel Neal American Legion Post #79, LeRoy or the LeRoy Fire Department.

 

Mr. Gassaway was born January 4, 1930 in Gillum, IL to Clyde and Eleanor McClintock Gassaway. He married Marie Miller on March 20, 1954 in LeRoy. She survives in LeRoy.

 

Also surviving are 2 Sons: Dave C. (Ellen) Gassaway and Dan C. Gassaway all of LeRoy; 5 Grandchildren: Josh (Erica) Gassaway, Nikki (Drew) Askew, Danny (Bailey) Gassaway, Jake (Rheanna) Gassaway, and Jackie (Jared) Wey; 5 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Kailey, Tanner, Autumn, and Mason Gassaway and 1 on the way.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 Brothers and 1 Sister.

 

Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was retired from the Carpenter’s Local 63, which he was a member for 62 years. After his retirement in 1992, Jack was the sexton for Oak Grove Cemetery in LeRoy for many years. He served over 44 years for the LeRoy Fire and Rescue and retired as Assistant Chief. He was a member of the LeRoy Christian Church where he served as a deacon for several years.

 

Jack was a life member of the Ruel Neal American Legion Post #79, LeRoy and a life member of the Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190, Farmer City. He was a 32nd degree mason and Shriner.

 

Jack was a master craftsman and gardener.

Nancy JoAnn Anderson, 69, of Bloomington, formerly of LeRoy, passed away at 7:20 A.M., Friday, March 10, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. Pastor David Ratley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 13, 2017 at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruel Neal American Legion Auxiliary Unit 79, LeRoy.

 

Mrs. Anderson was born April 7, 1947 in Fairmont, WV to Glen and Goldie Starcher Westfall. She married Phillip A. Anderson Sr. December 21, 1966 in Fairmont, WV. He passed away February 7, 2011.

 

Survivors include two sons, Phillip A. Anderson Jr. of Bloomington and Wesley S. Anderson of Hudson; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Archie Westfall and Bill Westfall both of Fairmont, WV.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Michelle S. Anderson and one sister, Ruth Scott.

 

Nancy was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Bloomington.

Mark Wayne “Smiley” Cruse, 56, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at home.

 

He was born May 7, 1960 in Champaign, a son of Marvin and Betty (Raney) Cruse.

 

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Audie and Karl Cruse of Mansfield; three sisters, Kim Henderson of Mansfield, Shelly Kirby of Farmer City, Tina Walker of Cullom; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

 

Mark shared ownership of M&A Roofing and worked as a roofer for many years.

 

Mark enjoyed fishing, music, friends, family and living life. He was known for his smile.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Community Building in Mansfield.

Mrs. Schoeler was born November 15, 1937 in McLean County, IL to Ernest Griffin and Rosie Clark White. She married Robert Carl Schoeler September 5, 1959 in Urbana. He survives in Mansfield.

 

Also surviving are 2 Daughters: Michele Ilene (Lee) Hudman of Cloudcroft, NM and Marie Lynn Little of Washington, IL; 10 Grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 Brother: Ernest Elwyn White of Holiday, FL; and 1 Sister: Alberta Louise (Robert) Stone of Mansfield.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 Brothers: Bobby Allen, Roger Lee, and Michael Eugene White.

 

Cora worked at Christie Clinic in Champaign until her retirement in September of 2003.

 

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, Champaign. One of Cora’s favorite scriptures was John 10:28 KJV; “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

Burial will be in McCord Cemetery, Fullerton, IL with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Farmer City or Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190 Farmer City.

 

Dale was born March 15, 1930 in Bloomington, IL, a son of Wilby C. and Lyla Neal Warren. He married Juanita Marshall on September 3, 1948 in Fairfield, IL.

 

Survived by his wife, Juanita of Farmer City, IL; daughter, Anita (Gene) Lewis of Mahomet, IL; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.

 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norman Warren.

 

Dale was a retired farmer, truck driver and school bus driver for Blue Ridge School District #18. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Dale was a member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church. He attended the First Christian Church of Farmer City. He was a life member of the Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City and a past Commander. Dale was a life member of the Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190, Farmer City.

Velda was born December 10, 1915 in Bellflower, IL, a daughter of Fredrick and Grace E. Kagel Golden. Surviving are her nephews and a niece, Richard Golden of Westfield, IN, Janice Priest of Farmer City, IL and Vernon (Shari) Golden of Bellflower, IL; three great nieces and five great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Golden.

 

She was a retired doctor’s assistant. Velda was a member of the Bellflower Christian Church. She was a former charter member of the Mid-Century Woman’s Club of Bellflower, IL.
