Stanley D. Rousey

 

 

 

 

LINCOLN-Stanley D.  Rousey, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on October 18, 2011 at 7:12 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

    Stanley was born July 11, 1937 in McLean, IL. the son of Alonzo and Alma Nichols Rousey.

He was married to Mary Baker on June 22, 1996   in Funk’s Grove, McLean, IL. She survives of Lincoln.  Stan is also survived by two sons,  Gregory Rousey of Lincoln and Kevin (Cindy) Rousey of Marion, Il., two daughters, Lisa (David) Bobb of Lincoln and Ricki (Pat) Giersch of St. Charles, Il., six grandchildren, Michael Bobb, Blake Pleasant, Kacey Rousey, Korey Rousey, Abby Pleasant and Kileigh Rousey,  3 great grandchildren, Grace Bobb, Gavin Rousey and Cole Rousey.  Stan was the last of his immediate family.

    Stan was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Brian Bobb, and 3 brothers, Junior, Merlin and Kenneth Rousey.

    Stan was retired owner and operator of Kenshalo-Rousey Home Improvements.  He was a member of Lincoln Lodge #210, Lincoln York Rite, Constantine Commandery #51, Ansar Shrine and Logan County Shrine Club.

     Stanley’s wishes were to be cremated.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

     Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Rev. Arthur Goldberger

LINCOLN-Rev. Arthur J. Goldberger, 88, of Lincoln died at 3:30 p.m. on October 7, 2011 at Christian Nursing Home, Lincoln.              

                Rev. Goldberger was a retired Lutheran Minister Emeritus having served at the Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln for several years as well as Vandalia, IL, Strasburg, IL and Shelbyville, MO.               

                He was born on June 24, 1923, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Isador A. and Agnes Kovacs Goldberger.  He married Lillian Ruth Moore on March 13, 1943 at Hope Lutheran Church, St. Louis, MO. She survives in Lincoln.              

                He is also survived by one son: Rev. Arthur Jack (Kay) Goldberger II of Bettendorf, IA; Six daughters: Linda Loos, of The Plains, Ohio; Susan Moore of Champaign, IL; Kathleen (Peter)Bishop of West Lafayette, IN; Patricia (Jim) Dermody of Monee, IL; Laura Williams of Lincoln, IL and Nancy Goldberger of Chicago, IL ; fourteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Edward Goldberger.              

                Rev. Goldberger served in the US Army Air Corp from 1943-1946.  He was a member of

The Governor’s Board of Elder Abuse for 4 years, Board of Seniors in Springfield, IL for 8  years, Central Illinois District Chairman of Family growth for 10 years, Election Chairman in 1968 and taught driver’s safety in Lincoln and Havana.  He was the visiting pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Decatur for many years. 

                Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday October 12, 2011 with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00P.M. Tuesday evening at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln where full military honors will be accorded.   Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Zion Lutheran School.

Darrell E. Klink

Darrell E Klink, 84, of Lincoln (a local city attorney for 58 years) passed away August 26, 2011 at 9:59 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, IL.

            Darrell was born on April 28, 1927 in Emden, IL to Carl and Lena Sweeter Klink. He is survived by his wife Shirley Schoch Kennedy Klink; Children surviving are Katherine L Rosenbaum of Arthur, IL and Brian(Tamera) Klink of Wales, WI; Janice E Klink of Sullivan; one step son Eric Kennedy of Houston TX; He is also survived by six grandchildren Jeffery (Lindsey), Karissa, Kristina and Jonathan Klink and Michael and David Rosenbaum and two great-grandchildren. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents.

            Darrell was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, he served in the Navy(Asiatic Pacific Theatre during WWII) he was a member of the Lincoln Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Emden American Legion post #506 as well as Forty and Eight; he attended the University of Illinois receiving his Bachelors and Law Degree in 1953;  he served two terms as the States Attorney of Logan County (at that time he was the youngest in the state); Lincoln Mason Lodge#210 AF and AM; Springfield Ansar Shrine; the Lincoln BPO#914 Elks Lodge for 50 years

            Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday Sep 1, 2011 at Lincoln Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will Wednesday at 4 p.m. to 7p.m. at the Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home with Masonic services at 3 p.m., one hour prior to visitation. Memorials may be given to the Danville or Quincy Veterans Hospital or the Elks Cripple Children.

Gladys Ubbenga

HARTSBURG-Gladys M. Ubbenga, 89, of Hartsburg, IL passed away at 10:26 a.m. on September 20, 2011 at Mason City Area Nursing Home, Mason City, IL.

                Gladys was born on February 16, 1922 at San Jose, IL the daughter of  Ullie and Tena  Rohlfs Rademaker.  She married Leo M. Ubbenga on July 30, 1941 in Missouri.   He preceded her in death     Feb. 11, 2009.

                Gladys  is survived by two daughters: Linda (Don) Hughes of Bartonville, IL and Nancy (Don) Boudeman of Armington, IL;  Five Grandchildren: Kim (Larry) Koch; Dr. Brad (Stephanie) Hughes; Dr. Brian (Jodie) Hughes; Matt (Lindsey) Boudeman; David (Jenna) Boudeman; and 12 great grandchildren:   Brandon Petrakis; Victoria Koch; Megan, Logan, Ian, Talon Hughes; Emma,  Ethan, Aiden Hughes, Taylor and Easton Boudeman, Mia Boudeman and one sister: Margaret (Jim) Blane of San Jose, IL.  She was preceded by her parents; four brothers; and one sister.

                Gladys was a homemaker and helped her husband farm.  She also worked at Lehn & Fink Cosmetic Factory. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden and the Logan County Farm Bureau.

                Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St.  Peter Lutheran Church at Emden, IL with Rev. John Schurter officiating.  Burial will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, IL.   Memorials may be given to Mason City Area Nursing Home. 

                Gladys enjoyed flower gardening and loved baking for others.  She loved to have her family around her for holiday gatherings.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren added an extra richness to her life.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Wilburn “Web” Donnan

Lincoln- Wilburn E. “Web” Donnan 88 of Ashland, IL, formerly of Lawndale, a retired farmer died at 1:57 P.M. at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia, IL. On September 23, 2011.

Web was born on December 22, 1922 to Earl and Irene Aughenbaugh Donnan. He married Mildred Voyles in 1942, and had two sons; Michael Wayne and William (Bill) Earl. He then married Elsie Curtis in 1992. He is survived by one son Michael (Beverly) Donnan of Ashland, Illinois. One sister Thelma Leever of Lincoln, IL; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mildred; a brother Arnold; a son Bill; and two great-grandchildren.

Web graduated from Beason High School; he was a grain and livestock farmer in the Lawndale, Atlanta, and Chestnut area since 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Logan County, until June, 2009 when he moved to Ashland, IL to live with his son and daughter-in-law. Web enjoyed watching his sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren show livestock at the Logan Co. Fair where the Donnan family has exhibited for 57 consecutive years; he enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool. He also loved his country so much that he raised and lowered the flag at the Lawndale and Interstate 55 over hang every day. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Web was a member of the Farm Bureau since 1947; served the Lawndale Grade School and Beason High School boards; Elks Club; Rotary Club; 4-H Leader for 21 years; Atlanta American Legion; American Simmental Association and the Logan County Simmental Association.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday Sep 27, 2011 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL, With Pastor Maurice Stribling officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 Monday Sep 26, 2011.Burial will be at Lawndale cemetery in Lawndale,IL .Memorials may be made to Cerebral Paulsy and/or American Heart Association.

Beverly Gaddy

LINCOLN-Beverly Jane Gaddy, 74, of Lincoln died on September 25, 2011 at 6:21 p.m. at her home.                 

Beverly was born on December 13, 1936, the daughter of Frederick and Florence Flemming Ealy.She married Jerry A. Gaddy on November 24, 1967 in Lincoln.  He survives in Lincoln.

                She is survived by four sons: Robert (Janice Stewart) Merreighn of Lincoln;  Scott Gaddy Sr. of Williamsville, IL; Todd Gaddy of Lincoln; Shawn (Angie Cooper) Gaddy of Hartsburg, Il.; three sisters: Pat (Jerry) Castro of Pensacola, FL; Linda (Tony) Decker  of Roanoke, IL; Delores  Windish  of Galesburg, IL; two brothers: Ron (Sharon) Ealy of Atlanta, IL; Bob (Mable) Westlake of Peoria, IL; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded by her parents; one son: Billy Merreighn and daughter-in-law LaDonna Merreighn; two daughters: Cherrie and Tami Huskins; one sister: Shirley Heady.

                Beverly retired from the Department of Revenue, State of Illinois after 35 years of employment.Beverly was a member of Lincoln Church of God.  She collected precious moments figurines and salt and pepper shakers.

                A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church of God, 601 Pulaski St., Lincoln with Rev. Jacob Skelton and Josh Merreighn officiating.   Memorials may be made to Lincoln Church of God.

                Beverly’s arrangements are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln.

                The family appreciates all the love and care that Dawn Gaddy showed to Beverly.
